My Favorite Things in Art Form

Glass Art

This particular glass work of art is mesmorizing. The coloration and spiral shping makes it look so realistic i had to take a second look. I was blown away by this peice.

Architecture

Architecture is quite amazing because it is over a broad range. Not just a peice of paper... It shows how creative architectures are.. This shows how glass can be used over a broad range.

Norman Rockwell, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Da vinci are some of the names that come to mind when you think of historical artists. They sculpted their lives around making art, and it definately payed off for them. This is just a small peice of evidence that greatness comes from art.

How was this class a good experience?

It allowed me to use my creativity that i didnt know i had. I am usually all about the big picture, and logical reasoning.. but this expeirience helped me use my imaginitive mind.

Unique Art

This piece of art was unique because it actually used pencils to make a picture. I thought it was pretty cool. It showed amazing creativity.

Interview with the artist Whitney Nave Jones

She is originally from Chattanooga, TN. She said she has been an artist as long as she can remember back. She then began to study Howard Finisters work and she said it would be the perfect partnership. She opened the gallary short after that and it still remains open today. She has kept this organization non-profitable because she wants to give back to the community. She

Poetry Slam

A poetry slam is a competition where poets recite their original documents. The first annual poetry slam took place in San Fransico. The poetry slam has spread incredably and has made its way all the way around the world and still goes on today.

Art and Film

There are many programs for art and film. One is Art & Film: the program.. there are many different things to do in this program. They are educated in the history of art and film. They are allowed to share all of these expeirences with their parents and friends. It has been known for producing great filmakers in the past.

Left brain Right Brain

According to a few tests, i am left brain dominate. Which means i reach for logic and the big picture first. For an example i would rather take a test with multiple choice rather than an essay question. I would also rather express things rather by writing than drawing.

Diorama Drama

A diorama that taught me somthing was the one that was against protesting war at soldiers funerals.

A diorama that was very creative was the one that was about the shoe company that is helping feet diseases.

A diorama that made me think more deeply about an issue was the no smoking diorama.

A diorama that i oppose is the one about sports that like michael vick.

A diorama that i opposed but understood where he was coming from was the pro war one.

The artist or the Pro War diorama was very bold. Because that is a very sensitive issue right now.

I felt very constructive makining a diorama about an issue.

I felt proud to have people to look and comment on my diorama.

The create process made me feel artistic.

Graffiti.. is it art?

I dont see why people would say Graffiti is not a form of art. It is an artist expressing themselves by drawing... I can see why some people would get mad if it was drawn on their property, but that still does not stop it from being a form of art.

I Know What Art Is

Art is something everyone can appreciate. Even if you are a mathoholic you can stop and enjoy good art. Art can educate and satisify the eye at the same time. It is simply amazing. It allows people to express themselves in other ways than just standing up and talking.

Interview with a Curator

I interviewed Whitney Nave Jones, who is in charge of Paradise Gardens in Chattooga, Ga. She not only runs this gallery, but is also a folk artist herself. She took over the business from Howard Finister. Paradise Gardens is a non-profitable organization because she says she wants to give back to the community.

Role of Artists in Society

I think artists of all types play an enormous role in our society today. They educate everyday people on cultures, and give them a chance to use their imagination, because some people see different things when they look at a peice of art.

Aztec Culture

Aztec is a culture because they have their own ideas, and characteristics and behaviors. Things like the language they spoke Nahuatl. They often made human sacrafices. The chief used heiroglyphic paitings.

Value of Art Education

Art education is important because not only does it give students hands on acivities, it teaches them valuable lessons about their cultures, as well as others. It also opens up the creativity side of their brain more.

Public Art

Public art serves many good purposes for the society. It educates people in art, while it can be very enjoyable. It gives everyday people a very good look at the works of art throughout history.
